Welcome to Chris Bradbury Creative.

Welcome to my site - in it I have tried to show you what I have to offer and, in doing so, hope to encourage you to return when you can.

I have written over 20 booksamong which are non-fiction, including such topics as the causes of World War Two, Creative Writing, the Wars of the Roses and films, and many fiction, including the Mike Ward series of adventure/spy novels.

And let's not forget the music. THE ALBUS BEAN make rock and blues albums tinged with the prog sensibilities of the Seventies and the lyrical kick of the new century, while UNTON CROKE are an instrumental group in the vein of Focus, some folk rock, the Mahavishnu Orchestra (perhaps less jazzed-up) and all those wonderful solo guitarists such as Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, throwing out Progressive Rock shapes with wild abandon.

Rooted in the times when music was fun and anything will go, they are full of flute and Hammond Organ, some brass and stunning guitar work.

Then there is PICARA, Jazz/Swing that relies on the big band sound so beloved of the mid-20th century and full of good times and bluesy emotions.

Finally, GIL LAINE combines evocative lyrics with soulful melodies that captivate audiences. With a voice that seamlessly blends raw emotion and polished technique, Laine crafts songs that resonate deeply, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, storytelling, and a wide array of musical influences. His sound is an eclectic mix of rock, acoustic, folk and world music, marked by introspective ballads and upbeat tracks that showcase his versatility as both a singer and a songwriter.

Give them a listen on the music page.

On the right is a song called 'We Just Do' (probably my favourite) from the album 'The Very Act Of Breathing'. We considered using images and then realised that you already had those in your head, that the words were enough. It is for all those that struggle on a daily basis, those who silently help others without thought of reward, those mothers and fathers who give simply through love. The Ukraine was in the back of our mind, in their struggle against the madman Putin, how those poor souls have to fight tirelessly every day, both soldier and civilian, just to see the next sunrise. We cannot help them with anything but our words and thoughts and they have them, all those quiet heroes who sit silently and await the dawn.
Sometimes, it is just the very act of breathing that gives us hope.
